Photos from a nearly month-long trip around Turkey in September to October 2012. I began with some sites around Izmir, on the west coast, then headed to the northeast, where I rented a car and headed around the eastern third of the country and a short side trip into Iraqi Kurdistan. Finally I headed to the huge city of Istanbul and got a little taste of it in the last four days. The map above shows my overall route. It was a great trip, with amazing scenery and history.
